Project Manager Logistics Digitization

Would you like to play a key role in Scania's digital transformation? As Project Manager Digitalization Logistics at Scania Production Meppel, you will lead the implementation of our latest MES and SCADA solutions from a business perspective. You will ensure that systems, processes, and people work together seamlessly, making our logistics operations smarter, more efficient, and future-proof. In this crucial role, you will be the connecting factor between Scania Meppel, the head office in Sweden, and all local stakeholders. You will work closely with business analysts, logistics teams, IT/OT experts, and management. You will stay on course, monitor quality, and ensure that the new MES and SCADA landscape is rock solid.

As Project Manager Logistics Digitization, you will play a pivotal role in a large, international program to revamp logistics management. This involves implementing a new subsystem, rolling out global blueprints, and connecting logistics operations to the new ERP landscape. You will ensure that the functionalities are properly set up, that processes are logically aligned, and that everyone is on board with the change.

You manage business analysts, contribute your substantive experience to their thinking, and ensure that requirements are clear and well understood. With your technical insight, leadership, and ability to connect people, you ensure that implementations run smoothly within scope, time, and budget, in close collaboration with colleagues at home and abroad. In doing so, you bring structure, clarity, and confidence. You switch effortlessly between strategic thinking and practical organization. Thanks to you, the new MES/SCADA system will not only be implemented, but truly embedded in daily operations.

What will you do?

  • Planning, coordinating, and monitoring all project activities, including roadmaps and the deployment of people and resources;
  • Coordinating the design and implementation of the new MES and SCADA systems within the logistics operation;
  • Managing and supervising business analysts based on content and overview;
  • Coordinating with headquarters in Sweden on blueprints, functionalities, and integrations;
  • Share updates on progress, results, and risks with colleagues and partners within both business and IT;
  • Monitoring the quality of results and ensuring that they meet the needs of the organization and comply with global standards;
  • Early identification of risks and timely adjustments to ensure smooth implementation;
  • Connect and collaborate with the central product team and internal and external partners for successful implementation;
  • Identifying bottlenecks and initiating improvements.

What do you own?

You also have:

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field and you work at a comparable level.
  • Experience leading IT or manufacturing projects in a dynamic environment.
  • Preferably knowledge of project management methods such as Agile and PRINCE2.
  • Experience with MES and SCADA systems, such as Apriso and Ignition, is an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English.
